Support First Generation and Students from Low-Income Backgrounds

My Dorm Room, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, provides students from low-income backgrounds, including first generation to college, $250 to spend on a curated registry so they can create and individualize their own dorm room, just as most of their college peers can do. They are able to select sheets, blankets, towels, shower items, lamps, organizers and other essential items.

Their college dorm room will be the site of their next phase of personal development. Providing students with these dorm essentials, eliminates a source of anxiety for them and often, their parents. This is one of the many inequities these students face when they start college that you can help alleviate.

Please provide these worthy students with support to enable them to customize their dorm room and help to foster a positive college experience for them.
